Frequently Asked Questions
ARE FORMS SET TO DO CONCRETE LANDSCAPE CURBING?
No. We have a specialized machine that extrudes the concrete into a continuous concrete border alleviating the need for forms.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?
It depends on many factors, especially quantity, but the average residential application takes only 1 day.
DO YOU USE REINFORCEMENT IN YOUR CURBING?
Yes, we use a fiber mesh to add strength and minimize cracking.
WILL THE COLOR FADE OVER THE YEARS?
Ultraviolet rays and weathering can effect all products, but integral colors are used in our mixture and a sealer is usually applied to minimize UV affects. Periodic resealing is good maintenance practice and will help keep the color vibrant.
WILL MY CURBING BREAK?
Since this product is primarily decorative, cars and other heavy equipment could break it under certain conditions. However, cracking in concrete is normal and is not a reason for concern. We try to minimize cracking, with control joints every 3-4 feet allowing your curbing to “move”.
HOW WILL REPLACING MY EXISTING BORDER WITH NEW CONCRETE EDGING EFFECT MY LANDSCAPING?
With the exception of the new border, you should hardly know we were even there. The installer will remove any existing bordering, cut a 9-12" wide strip of sod away from the outside of your current landscaping and install the new edging. Sprinkler heads may need to be moved (which can be priced and done by the installer in most cases) if they are in the path of the new edging.
WILL BE ABLE TO MOW UP AGAINST MY EDGING?
Our edging will be as strong as 3000psi and should withstand your mowers weight to ride along the front edge. The blades of your mower will not damage your edging allowing you to mow right up against it, resulting in less time spent weed eating around your landscaped areas.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The price is between $4.50 to $9.00 per running foot, depending on texture, color and site conditions.
